STI Breaks New Ground with the Tech 2 MXC

tech2mxcSTI Tire & Wheel has double-jumped into the MX/off-road market with the release of the all-new Tech 2 MXC. The “MXC” designation reflects this tire’s adaptability to both MX and XC applications.

The Tech 2 MXC has been years in the making. STI realized from the very beginning how competitive this segment is today. We knew the benchmarks and were willing to spend the extra time and effort in development until those standards were not only met, but surpassed. We did our homework, engaged in endless prototype testing on everything from off-road two-strokes to the latest 450 four-stroke motocrossers in a wide variety of terrain and in numerous racing events, went back to the engineering department several times throughout the process, then tested some more.

The Tech 2’s 4-ply carcass yields an ideal balance of durability, handling and ride. Its advanced rubber compound displays an exceptionally low wear rate, while its semi-wide tread pattern offers outstanding traction and control on both soft and hard surfaces. The intermediate profile incorporates larger tread volume on the shoulder for enhanced cornering grip and acceleration.tech2mxcsidewall

The Tech 2 MXC debuts in 80/100-21 sizing for the front, and 110/100-18, 120/100-18, 110/90-19 and 120/80-19 choices for the rear.

We recently had an independent test rider put in some hard miles in Kentucky and Mississippi, and he reported back with these words:

“After 400 miles of dual sport riding through single track, two-track, hardpack, rocks (planted and rolling),  sharp-edged boulders, loamy soil, square-edge exposed roots, slick, greasy, black soil bottoms, dirt roads and asphalt road riding, this tire handles it all and begs for more. Not sure if you can tell or not, but I’m really impressed with these tires and how well they perform! You can put the tire wherever you want it and trust that it will stick and hold even after 400 miles of different tire shredding terrain and obstacles. This is a overall great tire that could cross over into several different riding styles or terrains. The front and rear shoulder of the knobs are rounded and worn just a little. However the overall knob height is still great.”

STI Tech 2 MXC tires are available at finer powersports dealers everywhere.
