WORCS – Round 9 Update

Mike Sloan finished second in Pro ATV and Bryce Peart won the Pro-Am ATV race during the WORCS weekend at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, CA. The pair credited their STI Tech 4 tires for being the best in the business. Scoring a first win of the season, Daelen Etsitty finished first in the Open class. The Lechee, Ariz. racer is quickly moving up in the ranks.

With a unique blend of Glen Helen’s motocross track combined with a hardcore endurocross course and tight off-road sections, the track was tough to tame. With temperatures in the high 90s at race time, both events were a test of machine and man.

The Pro and Pro-Am events were shortened to 40 minutes due to the heat. Despite the change to the sprint-type event, Sloan and Peart were on point. Sloan overcame a mechanical issue early in the Pro event to score his sixth podium of the season.

“We were bumping and we were all going for it,” said Sloan. “It was a 40-minute race so the intensity was high and we all want to do well. The STI Tires were excellent. They were pulling up the hills. They had good braking and I had great control.”

Peart has come on strong late in the season and scored his second victory of the 2017 Pro Am season here. The win puts him just six points out of the lead in the title chase.

“I got the win and that helps us out with points,” said Peart. “The STI Tires worked awesome. They always do. I pulled a holeshot with them yesterday in Production A and got a great start today. They hooked up great. I’ve tried a lot of other tires and STI really works the best.”
